Mum's Army

This is the Women's Home Defence set from Bad Squiddo games.  Women's Home Defence was an unofficial organisation founded by Dr Edith Summerskill (nicknamed 'Flossie Bang Bang'), the Labour MP for Fulham West, in December 1941.  No uniform was worn just an enamel badge.  Recruits underwent weapons training and many became Home Guard Auxiliaries when allowed to do so. 

I've painted the figures up to represent the women of Dad's Army.  Captain Mainwaring's wife Elizabeth was famously never shown in the series except as a bulge in the top bunk in their Anderson shelter but she did appear in the 2016 film.  Also included are the romantic interests of Sergeant Wilson and Corporal Jones, and the spinster sisters of Private Godfrey.

I hesitated to dub them Mum's Army as I think only Mrs Pike was a mother.  However, of the male characters of "Dad's Army", only Sergeant Wilson has a son - and that was not acknowledged - so it seems fair enough.
